Choose a widget or a direct link
Open Integrations → Web Chat in your business portal to find your chat link and the website embed script. Share the link with customers, or have your website maintainer add the script to the pages where visitors need help.
The widget opens from a launcher in the corner of the website. The conversation loads when a visitor opens it, and closing the widget keeps the conversation available when they return to it.
Use the same business knowledge in every reply
Website chat uses your saved business information and assistant instructions. Start with the questions visitors ask before they contact you: where you are, what services you offer, how your policies work, and how to take the next step.
- Maintain answers in the business Knowledge Base.
- Preview responses with Agent Chat.
- Check the widget on your actual website on mobile and desktop.
Keep enquiries available for follow-up
With Leads enabled, incoming website messages are saved as enquiries. Your team can review the question history in the portal. An anonymous visitor can begin a conversation without immediately becoming a customer record.
Visitors have their own chat sessions. Conversation history can be restored in the same browser while its saved session is available; starting a new chat or clearing browser storage starts a new session. Unresolved questions can create support tickets when that feature is enabled.

Common questions
Do customers need a stilltyping account?
No. Public website chat creates a visitor session. Your business portal remains a separate sign-in for managing the workspace.
Can I use a link before adding a widget?
Yes. Your business has a public chat link you can share directly. The widget is another way to open that chat from your website.
Does every conversation create a customer?
No. With Leads enabled, messages are enquiries. A customer record is created or matched when an order or appointment is saved with the required contact details.
